Easy SmartThings and Amazon Echo Alexa Integration

Post by moore101 » Sun Aug 13, 2017 4:43 pm

For anyone that has Autelis setup for their Pentair equipment and doesn't have the expensive Pentair Ethernet interface here is how to control your equipment with both SmartThings and also Amazon Echo (Alexa). This is not a complete step by step but anyone that has played with ST or the Echo should know the process, otherwise Google is your friend.

- Install this custom device handler for ST: http://thingsthataresmart.wiki/index.ph ... URI_Switch
- Modify the code in two places (internal_on_path and internal_off_path) to add basic authentication, use the following string for the standard username and password. Note the comma after the host info.
headers: [
HOST: "${internal_ip}:${port}",
Authorization: "Basic YWRtaW46YWRtaW4="

- Add a new ST device for each function you want to control (Pool, Cleaner, Spa...)
- In the ST app edit the new device(s) and use the details from this wiki to get the URI string for the internal On and Off path, include the leading "/" in the path: http://www.autelis.com/wiki/index.php?t ... _Reference
- Test that the ST app can control the device (On/Off)
- Integrate add Amazon Echo ST skill if you don't have it already.
- Go to SmartHome and discover all devices
- Tell Alexa to turn on/off the devices you just created
- Have fun!

Would you be able to help me with this? Im not sure of the coding for the controls? Added the device in ST but stumped as to the rest. Currently use my cell phone to control Autelis, pump, solar, heater from aux switch.
