About this product
Pool Control for Jandy®/Zodiac® is designed to link your Jandy®/Zodiac® Aqualink® powered pool to your network and provide a remote control interface over the web and through various dedicated apps and/or home automation systems.

Feature Specific Firmwares
Firmware updates should only be applied over a local network connection. If the firmware update times out on the first attempt, try it again and do not reboot the device.
Note: Firmware updates require the Java runtime available here: http://www.java.com/en/download
The Autelis Pool Control is compatible with Aqualink® RS systems (Touch, OneTouch, or AllButton). The default firmware requires your system to be running Rev. I or higher software (i.e. compatible with the serial adapter). If you require compatibility with an older firmware please inquire. It is not compatible with Aqualink® PDA systems.
This product is designed for indoor installation and the enclosure supplied is not waterproof.
If your system wiring is vulnerable to power surges caused by lightning strikes then installing a lightning isolation device is recommended. Damage due to lightning surges is not covered under the product warranty.
The Autelis Pool Control interfaces directly to your existing system and does not require any additional interface or protocol adapters. Installation requires connection to the 4-wire equipment bus on your Aqualink® system. This 4-wire bus connects all the keypads and control devices in your system to the main control center. You can connect to the bus either at the control center or at a keypad location. Please refer to the installation manual for your Aqualink® system for more information on connecting keypads and accessory equipment to the bus and be sure to follow all safety procedures described therein. Once you have familiarized yourself with the Aqualink® hardware and turned off the power to the system, follow the diagram on the label on your device to match the labels on the 4-wire connector with the correct bus wires which are designated by color (Green, Yellow, Black, Red). Note: Red wire not used on SN200 Hardware version.
Connection to Network
Installation requires connection to your network router or switch which supports 10Base-T Ethernet. Connect the built-in ethernet port to your network device using the included cat-5 cable or a standard cat-5 networking cable of your choice. You may also use a wireless bridge or a Powerline network device to provide the network connection. The Pool Control device will obtain an IP address automatically via DHCP.
Connection to Power
Hardware Model XN200 (current): Power is supplied through the 4-wire connection to the Aqualink system.
Hardware Models BN100 & SN100: Connect the included power adapter to the device and plug it into a standard wall outlet. When plugged in, the green LED on the ethernet port will blink for 5 seconds and then the device will boot normally.
Model XN200 - The unlabeled black RJ45 port and micro USB port on the device are not usable in this configuration. Please do not connect anything to these ports.
To access the web interface type 'http://poolcontrol' into your browser. This may not work with all routers and network configurations (see below hint). You can also type the IP address of the Pool Control device which can be found in your router interface by matching an IP address from the table with the MAC address printed on the bottom of the device or by using an IP scanner tool to search by MAC address. Log in using the username 'admin' and the default password 'admin'.

Windows Hint: In your network connection properties under TCP/IPv4 properties, click the advanced button. In the DNS tab, select "Append these DNS suffixes (in order)" and click add and enter "." (a single period with no quotes). This may allow you to use the poolcontrol name instead of an IP address.
This page displays basic system information.
- The state of the connection to the Aqualink® system. Under normal operating conditions this should say "Connected".
- The model number of the connected Aqualink® system.
- Dip Switches
- The state of the DIP switches of the Aqualink® system. This reads as 8 values (S1-S8) from left to right with zero representing Off and 1 representing On.
- Operating Mode
- The operating mode of the connected Aqualink® system. This can be "Auto", "Service", or "Timeout".
- Battery Voltage
- The backup battery voltage of the connected Aqualink® system. This will have a green background when normal and a red background when low.
- Software Version
- The software version of the Autelis Pool Control device. This information is not related to the Aqualink® software version.
- The current time value from the Autelis Pool Control device, adjusted for your computer's local time settings. This information is not related to the time kept by the Aqualink® system.
- Clicking this button will reboot the Autelis Pool Control device. It will not reboot the Aqualink® system.
- Clicking this button will reset all settings to factory defaults (including password) and reboot the device. It will not change any settings on or reboot the Aqualink® system.
This page displays the current status and on, off, and dimming level controls for equipment.
This page displays temperature information, status, and on and off controls for heating equipment and status and adjustment controls for setpoints.
Heating devices will display a gray background when off, a red background when on, and a green background when enabled.
Water temperature readings will display a red background when at or above the current setpoint and a blue background if below the current setpoint.
This page allows you to change the admin password and set the names for the equipment attached to any auxiliary relays or dimmers.
All fields are limited to 15 characters or less.

- SMTP FQDN
- This is the value that will be sent to your E-Mail SMTP server to identify the connection. You should not need to change this setting under normal circumstances.
- IP Address
- If you need to define a static IP address for Pool Control, you may do so here. Warning: If you set a static IP address on the BN100 or SN100 models the only way to reactivate DHCP is through this webpage so do not forget the IP address. Set to 0.0.0.0 to use DHCP to automatically obtain an IP.
- HTTP Port
- This value defines the port on which the web server operates. Warning: If you change the port the only way to reset it to default is through this webpage so do not forget the port. Set to 0 or 80 to use the default port. Note: If you use a port other than 80 (for example, 88) you will have to type http://poolcontrol:88 in your browser.
This page allows you to configure the alert settings including your email server, Twitter account, and which alerts you wish to receive via one or both methods.

Additionally, you can create a new Twitter account for your pool and follow it with your own account. It is also a great way to keep a log of past alerts.
The first column of checkboxes is to select which events will cause an email alert to be sent. The second column of checkboxes is to select which events will cause a Twitter alert to be sent.
Equipment alerts will be sent on any change of state. For temperature alerts, a threshold temperature must be defined. Alerts will only be triggered by crossing the threshold in one direction. For a low temperature threshold, an alert will be sent when the temperature reaches the threshold due to a decrease in temperature. For a high temperature threshold, an alert will be sent when the temperature reaches the threshold due to an increase in temperature.
This page allows you to set various reminders to help keep track of pool maintenance tasks.
The date the reminder was last reset is shown along with a timer which varies from 1-60 days.
Tasks that are past due are shown in red while tasks that are current are shown in green and inactive tasks are gray.
Reminder alerts are configured on the alerts page and once a reminder alert has been sent no additional alerts will be sent until the reminder is manually reset.
If you have the Pool Control IR model, you will see the IR Settings page in the menu. The IR receiver is located in the small opening on the front of the device.
This page allows you to configure the IR codes that activate various functions.
The IR Codes are RC5/RC5x format and are specified by 4 hex digits. These can run from 0000-1F7F as specified by the RC5/RC5x code specification. The first two digits represent a byte value equal to the RC5 address. The second two digits represent a byte value equal to the RC5/RC5x command. A value of FFFF disables the function and is the default setting. RC5 format is used by many Philips devices and others. You may wish to try a Philips device configuration with the learning mode as described below or choose codes manually. Please consult your universal remote control manual for more information. - Learning Mode
The textarea at the bottom of the page will display the IR learning mode and will also show commands as they are received. Enable learning mode to test your remote and determine which codes are sent by which buttons. When you have found the code you are looking for, enter it into the textbox for the command you wish to associate it with. Don't forget to save changes when you are done.
NOTE: You must disable IR Learning when you are finished using it or the IR commands will not be active. This can be done manually and also will be done automatically when you click the "Save Changes" button.
- Confirm Command
The confirm command can be used in order to prevent accidental triggering of IR commands. If the command is disabled (value FFFF), single IR commands will activate their assigned functions. However, if the confirm command is enabled, all IR commands will need to be followed by a confirm command within 4 seconds in order to activate their assigned function.
NOTE: When sending IR commands, ensure there is a small delay between successive commands. You may need to adjust this delay for optimal results.
Firmware versions 1.3.0 and above include a keypad interface in your web browser.
The keypad can be controlled using your mouse to click the buttons on the screen or by using your keyboard. The available actions and their associated keyboard keys are listed below.

Mobile Web App
Firmware 1.0.3 and above contains a built-in mobile web app which can be accessed from any browser including iPhone, iPad, and Android devices.
To launch the web app, visit http://poolcontrol/app.html or http://ip.address.here/app.html
The app allows you to save your password so that you do not need to log in every time you visit it. This is especially useful when adding the app to your home screen on iOS devices. To save your password, load the app and click on the settings button in the top right corner. Then click "Save Password". To clear your saved password, click "Clear Password".
To turn equipment on and off, simply click on the name of the equipment. You should see the status change after a few seconds.
Emergency Factory Reset / Forgotten Password
In the event you have forgotten your password, you will need to factory reset your device.
Hardware Model BN100 & SN100 - To do this, go to http://poolcontrol/userreset.cgi?do=true or http://ip.address.here/userreset.cgi?do=true in your web browser and enter the username "admin" and for the password enter the security key printed on the label on the bottom of your device. The security key can only be used to factory reset the device and will not allow you to access any other web pages.
Hardware Model XN200 - Use a pen tip to depress the reset button on the back of the device for 2 seconds until the lights on the ethernet port turn off, then immediately release.
